  1. We put sunscreen on to protect our skin from UV radiation, but almost 75percent of the more than 1,350 products tested in the Environmental Working Group’s “Sunscreen Guide for 2016”were concluded to be unsafe, ineffective or both.
The EWG further warns against using any sunscreen aerosol spray or powders containing oxybenzone(causes allergic reactions in some and mimics estrogen) and retinyl palmitate(a form of Vitamin A, which may speed the development of skin tumors and lesions when applied to the skin in the presence of sunlight) because it is almost unavoidable to not accidentally inhale them.
Some of these offenders include Banana Boat, Coppertone, CVS and Neutrogena.
Many other lotions and sunscreens contain metal-based nanoparticles, which studies now link to both environmental and animal toxicity.
SPF 50 and up have the most toxins.

  2. In short, yes!

If you care about your skin, wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 15 is the one thing you can do to protect it most.

Sunscreen helps decrease the risk of skin cancer and other negative effects including wrinkles, fine lines, freckles, and sallowness.
