  1. In some cases, when someone is unaware of being diabetic and slips into a coma, or when poor circulation and high blood glucose levels wreak havoc with someone’s health, a heart attack, a stroke or gangrene can be the result.

This can, however, mostly be prevented by close monitoring of blood-glucose levels, and sticking to a prescribed diet and exercise programme, as well as taking the right medication.
